I figured out the best time to deplane — it’s the only logical way

Don’t just wing it.

A Redditor has sparked fierce debate over the best time to get off a flight by admitting to waiting until the very last minute to disembark once a plane has landed.

“I don’t get off my seat when the plane lands,” the unidentified person wrote in a Reddit post this week. “I wait until most of the people have gotten off.”

When asked why, the user simply stated: “Because I’m not a moron.”

The post divided Reddit users, who expressed their preferred methods of exiting an aircraft.

“I only get up if I’m in an [aisle seat] with other people idk on the inside rows to let them out,” one poster replied. “Then I sit back down.”

“[Staying sitting] is the only logical thing to do really,” agreed another. “Or else everyone just ends up standing on top of each other and dropping suitcases on other people’s heads.”

Others refuse to wait, with one user insisting: “I gotta be one of the first off.”

Reality TV star Batsheva Haart, from “My Unorthodox Life,” ignited a similar discussion after posting a TikTok of herself waiting for the passengers in front of her to exit a plane in December.

“Sitting in my seat instead of standing up until it’s my row’s turn to deplane,” she wrote on the video.

Her candid clip took off, with some users arguing that sometimes they need to leave the plane quickly.

“Some people have layovers that are short and don’t have time to sit around and wait,” a follower maintained.

“Just be ready to get out when it’s your turn,” another user warned. “I saw people gathering their belongings in their seat when it was their turn to get out.”

“Maturity is respecting that other people’s preferences may not be same as yours,” observed another.

Airplane seats are a hot topic online. Last year, a woman went viral for her unusual method of returning to her seat: climbing over fellow passengers.

And a Minnesota TikToker spurred a turbulent debate on the app this month with her claim that the aisle seat is better than the window seat.
