AC Milan vs. Paris Saint-Germain prediction: Soccer odds, picks

AC Milan is in a tricky spot against Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday afternoon.

After playing to a pair of scoreless draws against Newcastle and Borussia Dortmund in its first two matches, Milan is under some pressure to get a result on the road against PSG or it could run the risk of falling too far behind the front-runners of Group F.

Newcastle is a -150 favorite against Dortmund on Wednesday and if the Magpies get a win in that match and Milan loses in Paris, it’ll basically be curtains for the Italians in the Champions League.

Even though Milan has some exciting playmakers including Noah Okafor, Christian Pulisic and Rafa Leao, this team is still most comfortable grinding out results with sturdy defensive play and relying on one of its wunderkinds to provide a moment of magic.

Milan has allowed just two goals in its last seven matches across all competitions and is surrendering just 0.74 expected goals per contest in that span.

The Rossoneri want to play in low-event matches.

That will be just fine with PSG, which wants to be on the ball and build up slowly from the back in order to lull defenses to sleep before cutting them to shreds with Kylian Mbappe or Goncalo Ramos.

With one team that is happy to sit back and turn games into rock fights and another that loves to knock the ball around all game, this has all the ingredients for a low-event match despite all the talent that will be on the field on Wednesday.

The play: AC Milan-Paris Saint-Germain Under 2.5 (+110).
