Trump labels Bidens ‘crime family’ and ‘Watergate times 10’

Donald Trump on Tuesday reiterated his claims that the Bidens are a “crime family” and likened their suspected wrongdoings to “Watergate times 10.”

Trump’s withering criticism of President Biden and his clan came just days after House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) claimed in a Fox News interview that at least 12 members of the first family were involved in an “influence-peddling scheme.”

“What Congressmen James Comer and Jim Jordan have revealed about the ‘Biden Crime Family’ would be Watergate times 10, if this news was revealed just 10 years ago,” Trump said in the video posted to his Truth Social platform.

The 76-year-old ex-president then directed his wrath at the news media, suggesting that journalists were turning a blind eye to the Bidens’ alleged corruption.

“Our fake news media is corrupt at a level like never seen before,” Trump said. “There has never been anything like it. If this kind of information came out in the past, writers would be getting Pulitzer prizes when Pulitzer prizes meant something. It doesn’t mean very much any more. Yes. Our media is totally corrupt.”

Trump’s videotaped remarks mirrored his written statement that appeared on his campaign website on April 19, which read: “What Congressmen James Comer and Jim Jordan have revealed about the Biden Crime Family would be Watergate times 10 if this News was revealed 10 years ago. Our Fake News Media is corrupt at a level never seen before!”

The 76-year-old billionaire took to his social media platform to reiterate his message on the same day Biden, 80, formally announced that he is running for re-election in 2024, potentially against Trump if he manages to clinch the GOP nomination.

Biden’s announcement was dimmed by a dark cloud of federal and congressional investigations hanging over first son Hunter Biden concerning his business ventures.

Comer is leading the congressional probe into how Hunter’s business interests allegedly enriched the president’s family.

Speaking to Fox News host Maria Bartiromo on Sunday, Comer said his panel so far has identified at least nine Biden relatives who he said were involved in the “influence-peddling scheme,” but he noted that “in the end, that number will be at least 12.”

The Oversight Committee chairman has not revealed any additional names beyond Hunter, his uncle James Biden, and Hunter’s sister-in-law-turned-former lover Hallie Biden.

The trio was said to have received cash from a venture involving Beijing-backed CEFC China Energy in 2017 and 2018.

“There’s not going to be anybody left for a Christmas picture if the DOJ did their job and went in there and indicted everyone that has any type of fingerprints involved in this influence-peddling scheme,” Comer said.

At the same time, Hunter continues to face a years-long Department of Justice investigation stemming from his apparent lying about his drug use on a federal drug purchase form and committing alleged tax fraud by failing to report income he earned overseas.

Joe Biden himself is the focus of a special counsel investigation over the handling of classified documents.

Meanwhile, there are four separate federal and state investigations involving Trump or his businesses.

On the national level, a Justice Department-appointed special counsel is looking into a cache of classified documents that were found at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida.

In Manhattan, Trump was indicted this month on 34 criminal counts of business fraud related to hush-money payments to porn actress Stormy Daniels.

Separately, the Trump Organization has been sued by the New York attorney general for allegedly lying to lenders and insurers about its assets.

In Georgia, the Fulton County district attorney is weighing charges related to efforts by Trump and his cronies to overturn the results of the 2020 election.
