Trump & Christie poised to skip key Iowa cattle call with state gov.

Former President Donald Trump is giving yet another major Iowa presidential campaign event a miss next month.

Neither the 77-year-old 2024 Republican front-runner nor former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie are scheduled to be part of Hawkeye State Gov. Kim Reynolds’ “Fair Side Chats” at the Iowa State Fair — as Trump continues his feud with Reynolds and Christie focuses his attention on New Hampshire.

“President Trump looks forward to interacting with tens of thousands of Iowans at the fair in an open and unfiltered setting,” campaign spokesperson Steven Cheung told The Post of the apparent snub to Reynolds.

A dozen other GOP contenders will sit down with Reynolds at the annual celebration: Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, former Vice President Mike Pence, entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, former US Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley, Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC), former Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson, North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum, Miami Mayor Francis Suarez, radio host Larry Elder, former Rep. Will Hurt, businessman Ryan Binkley and entrepreneur Perry Johnson.

“I am so proud that I get to have the opportunity to introduce these candidates to Iowans at an event so near and dear to my heart,” Reynolds said in a statement.

“The Iowa State Fair showcases the best of Iowa — from our people to our culture and wonderful agriculture industry — and it’s the perfect venue for a conversation with the candidates.”

Christie has exhibited little interest in the Hawkeye State, instead betting big on New Hampshire’s more moderate electorate to boost his campaign.

“We don’t have an Iowa operation and we don’t have any plans to have an Iowa operation, nor do we have any immediate plans to go there,” Christie spokesman Karl Rickett told Politico on Monday.

Trump, on the other hand, has rolled through Iowa multiple times and is the clear front-runner in the latest RealClearPolitics aggregate of state polling.

The former president has attended the fair in the past, famously offering children rides in his helicopter eight years ago.

But the GOP front-runner has chafed at Reynolds following a recent report that she is warming up to his closest rival, DeSantis.

Earlier this month, Trump vented his frustrations on social media after Reynolds missed a rally of his in Council Bluffs.

Her staff claimed to the New York Times she wasn’t invited, while Trump’s team countered that she has a standing invitation to his events.

“I opened up the Governor position for Kim Reynolds, & when she fell behind, I ENDORSED her, did big Rallies, & she won. Now, she wants to remain ‘NEUTRAL.’ I don’t invite her to events! DeSanctus down 45 points!” Trump wrote on Truth Social, using his preferred spelling of DeSantis’ name.

Reynolds insists she will attend Trump events in the future despite the tiff.

Thus far, the Iowa governor has remained steadfastly neutral in the GOP race and attended events featuring several candidates, including Trump.

Trump also did not attend the Iowa Family Leadership Summit, with his team blaming his absence on a scheduling conflict with a Turning Point USA event in Florida.

“Nobody is entitled to this nomination,” DeSantis told conservative Boston radio host Howie Carr earlier this month. “You have got to earn the nomination and doing things like the Family Leader event in Iowa, doing things like these debates, they’re important parts of the process.”

Christie also did not attend the summit, which was moderated by former Fox News host Tucker Carlson.

The Iowa State Fair is scheduled to run from Aug. 10 to 20, while the Republican caucuses have been set for Jan. 15, 2024.
