‘The Acolyte’ star Carrie-Anne Moss on kombucha, cold plunges

Carrie-Anne Moss may be best known for “The Matrix” movies, playing motorcycle-riding, butt-kicking Trinity, whose second-skin black vinyl catsuits and an iconic ebony trench quickly became iconic. But the Canadian-born actress insists she’s far more holistic than hellion in real life.

The founder of Annapurna Living, a mindful female empowerment brand, has been practicing yoga for decades and left the hustle and bustle of L.A. for a farmhouse in New Hampshire with her actor husband, Steven Roy.

Yet Moss, 56, is now back with another badass role. She plays Master Indara in Disney+’s highly anticipated “Star Wars” saga, “The Acolyte,” wearing a signature hooded cloak likely to make its own sartorial splash. For the physically demanding role, she went through choreography training, paired with cardio, weights and Pilates workouts.

Moss tells Alexa that her new character is “a formidable Jedi with great skill and physical and mental strength,” known for her “layered, structured, textured kimono-like amazingness.” She winkingly adds that her own off-duty wardrobe issomewhat disheveled with moments of grace.”

Here are some of the things that help the “Memento” star maintain her well-grounded lifestyle — and one special seat still on her wishlist.

“With notes of Turkish rose petals, pink peppercorns and amber, all I can say is … obsessed!”

“These are classic, yet still have a uniqueness about them.”

“Saves the mane, like for real.”

“I am growing my hair out and this gives my natural wave and texture a boost.”

“I love this avant-garde, midcentury-modern aesthetic, and I have a perfect spot waiting for this chair.”

“Hard Kombucha, my somewhat guilty pleasure.”

“With tons of travel for work and pleasure, this helps keep me streamlined.”

“Living Libations is my absolute favorite skin line and I love how this moisturizer leaves you with a golden glow.”

“The slit, the drape, the open back … this dress is heaven on the senses.”

“One of my favorite things is feeling that exhale as I climb into bed at night. These are my favorite linen sheets and I’m eyeing this color. I like to change up my bedroom seasonally by changing my bed. These bring summer vibes to me.”

“It may take some time to heat up, but I love the intentional nature of a wood-fired sauna.”

“When night comes, and I cook dinner, I always light a candle to inspire myself and set the tone. I love these pure beeswax candles.”

FAVORITE POST-WORKOUT SPLURGE: Odin Ice Bath

“I love a good cold plunge. It is the best post-workout relief because it reduces inflammation and accelerates muscle recovery.”

“Truly the most magical hotel on a secluded estate in Hampshire, England. I stayed here while shooting ‘The Acolyte’ and it was so profoundly nourishing with its 438 acres of woodlands, gardens, meadows, orchards and lakes. The service is impeccable, as are the rooms and the food and cocktails in the Moon Bar. It’s beyond amazing.”
