Texas mom allegedly gunned down daughter’s abusive ex

A Texas mom has been arrested for allegedly gunning down her daughter’s abusive boyfriend in a fight where he yelled, “Just shoot me!”

Patricia Conlon, 49, went to the Dallas home of Joshua Troutte, 36, Sunday after her daughter confided that she was ending their nearly two-year abusive relationship because he had been violent again, Fox 4 said, citing police documents.

Troutte’s roommate told cops he saw an armed Conlon enter the home and start an argument — during which Troutte shouted “Just shoot me!”

The roommate then heard multiple rounds being fired, with Troutte left dead in the bathroom, the unnamed roommate told the cops.

Conlon later told cops that she had just planned to hold Troutte at gunpoint until police arrived to bust him for hitting her daughter above the eye with a phone, the affidavit said.

She admitted the deadly shooting, but claimed she only pulled the trigger in self-defense after Troutte grabbed her arm and pulled her hair.

However, police argued against self-defense because Conlon attempted to hold him at gunpoint and the “lack of reasonableness in her action involved in the use of deadly force,” the affidavit said.

She was arrested immediately after the shooting and has been charged with murder.

Troutte has a lengthy criminal history, the station reported, including a previous guilty plea for assault and family violence in 2018.
