Show-stopping save on Lionel Messi left Selena Gomez in awe

Witnessing the GOAT? Incredible.

Witnessing the GOAT get stopped from in close? Unbelievable.

Singer and actress Selena Gomez was left with her jaw dropped watching Inter Miami star Lionel Messi get stopped by LAFC keeper John McCarthy on Sunday.

Gomez’s reaction to the stop — just one of the highlights in a 3-1 Inter Miami win in which Messi added a pair of assists — quickly went viral.

The “Only Murders in the Building” star got in on the fun as well, posting a screenshot of her disbelief on her Instagram Story, captioned, “Mood.”

Gomez wasn’t the only one who caught the high-profile matchup at BMO Stadium in Los Angeles.

Among the star-studded crowd were Prince Harry, “Ted Lasso” stars Jason Sudeikis and Brandan Hunt, Lakers All-Star LeBron James, Dodgers ace Clayton Kershaw and actors Leonardo DiCaprio, Owen Wilson, Mario Lopez and Edward Norton.

The A-listers got a little extra show for their evening as Messi’s personal bodyguard tackled a pitch invader who approached the Argentinian star wearing his Barcelona jersey.

Messi’s arrival has done more than draw a crowd.

He has Inter Miami creeping up the Eastern Conference standings with his standout play, posting 11 goals and eight assists since coming stateside to bring his side within points of a playoff spot with eight games remaining.

The rest of MLS, much like Gomez, can’t take their eyes off Messi.

“He is very smart and he moves depending on the ball, depending on our positioning, depending on the space that you give him,” LAFC center back Girgio Chiellini said of Messi. “He seems to be walking for most of the game, but when he feels the blood, when he feels the good senses, he completely turns his velocity, his speed, his movement.”
