Sarah Ferguson given ‘VIP role’ at coronation gig after snub: report

Sarah Ferguson has been given a “VIP role” at King Charles’ coronation concert at Windsor Castle next month, despite not receiving an invitation to the historic ceremony, according to a report.

The Duchess of York, 63, was reported to have not been included on the guest list for the May 6 coronation even though she is still living with her ex-husband Prince Andrew.

But in an effort to make up for the apparent diss, Fergie will be given a special seat on the East Lawn of the castle the day after the ceremony to have unmatched views of the King’s coronation concert, The Sun reports.

A royal insider told the outlet that Fergie would “never have expected an invitation to the Coronation.”

“But she is delighted to be joining the wider family for the Coronation Concert,” the insider said, adding that she will be joined by her daughters Beatrice, 34 and Eugenie, 33.

“She cherishes those more relaxed times with the family and, contrary to some reports, is fully accepting of the situation,” the source went on.

“She did, of course, join the family for the Sandringham Christmas celebrations, so it’s clear there is no ill will in either direction. Quite the contrary.”

The Post has reached out to Ferguson’s reps and Buckingham Palace for comment.

The King’s concert will feature a few famous names taking to the royal stage, including Katy Perry, Andrea Bocelli, and Lionel Richie.

Welsh baritone Sir Bryn Terfel is due to perform, while British classical-soul composer Alexis French will also appear at the event.

Other musical Brits to be featured in the Coronation Concert include the band Take That, and English singer-songwriter Freya Ridings, as well as a choir group of 300 from across the four nations of the United Kingdom.

About 20,000 fans are expected to attend the public showcase, along with members of the royal family.

The gig’s planning was thrown into chaos after a slew of famous Brits, including Sir Elton John, Adele, Harry Styles, the Spice Girls and Robbie Williams, declined to perform at the coronation.

Experts believe no one wanted to perform because they didn’t want to be associated with the scandal-scarred monarchy.

Ferguson last week addressed the invitation situation — or lack thereof — saying she will watch the crowning at home with her corgis, Muick and Fergus, which she adopted after Queen Elizabeth died.

“I personally will be having a little tea room and coronation chicken sandwich and putting out the bunting,” she said while promoting her novel, “A Most Intriguing Lady,” on the TV program “Loose Women.”

“That’s what I’m going to be doing. Because that would make me very happy,” she went on, adding that she’s more than content to watch it on TV because “you hear a lot on the telly.”

However, she said that because she is divorced from the Duke of York, 63, she never “expected” to receive an invite.

“You can’t have it both ways, you can’t be divorced and then say, ‘I want this … ‘ [You’re in] or you’re out,” the mother of two noted. “I think it’s really great to be supportive big time.”

Meanwhile, Prince Harry — who will be attending the ceremony after months of speculation — will be rubbing shoulders with royal relatives who will be “cold and icy” toward the Duke of Sussex, according to a royal expert.
