Ryan Reynolds, Rob McElhenney bringing Wrexham AFC party to Vegas

The Wrexham party rolls on.

Celebrity owners of the Welsh club Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhinney took part in a bus parade Tuesday in Wales after the team won the National League with a record 111 points and earned promotion to English Football’s League Two.

Wrexham downed Boreham Wood 3-1 on April 22, ending a 15-year stay in the EFL’s fifth division.

Tuesday’s parade also celebrated the Wrexham women’s side, which earned promotion to the Genero Adran Premier league with a 1-0 win over Briton Ferry Llansawel.

The party won’t be confined to Wales, however — it’s coming stateside.

Striker Paul Mullin revealed the plans during an interview with the Footballers’ Football podcast last week.

“(We’re) Off to Vegas,” Mullins said. “Get the plane fired up and all off to Vegas, which will be unbelievable.”

Goalkeeper Ben Foster had hinted Reynolds and McElhenney had more celebrations in store after a dramatic win against closest rival Notts County last month.

“They promised us a big deal at the end of the season,” he told CBS Sports last month. “They promised us a monster one (party) at the end of the season, (that) if we get promoted then they are going to take us away somewhere with a lot of flashing lights.”

The side gained notoriety as Reynolds and McElhinney bought it for $2.5 million in 2021 amid its traction in the National League.

“Everything I own smells like champagne, beer and grass,” Reynolds tweeted. after Wrexham earned promotion. “I’m still somewhere between giggling and sobbing. This town and this sport is one of the most romantic things on earth. Thank you, @Wrexham_AFC.”

McElhinney was left speechless by the massive win.

“I have no words other than THANK YOU,” he tweeted.

Wrexham’s struggles and history got worldwide exposure as the actors produced a documentary of their takeover with FX’s “Welcome to Wrexham” series.

Wrexham has announced it will play the LA Galaxy II at Dignity Health Sports Park on July 22 as part of a summer tour in the United States.
