Passenger begs for child-free airports in rant about crying kids

This time, the turbulence was inside the airport.

An irate passenger whose flight was delayed 60 minutes went off about how kids running around an airport made the hour insufferable.

Taking to Reddit, the flyer, a k a RisingWitchSpirit, published a micro-dissertation titled “What I would do for a child-free airport.”

“Stuck at an airport, with over an hour delay, knowing I’m going to be missing transport home and have to get a taxi is bad,” they initially opined.

“But having to hear the multiple kids that are extra tired, definitely makes it 100 times worse.”

While kids in crowded public areas was enough to irk this one traveler, what happened next is what truly sent them over the edge.

“Not only do I have to deal with the general noise and slight tantrums, I’ve had a kid throw a fit because he wanted my seat, and another child yank my strap from behind my seat just because he could,” the person added, also giving their mother “credit” for getting the kids’ — apparently siblings — acts together.

“If this plane doesn’t arrive soon I may jump out the window,” they lamented.

Sharing their pain, one person called Costco_FreeSample commented, “The airports know that and they seal the windows so you don’t jump out, I thought.”

Cementing that sense of unity with the aggrieved Redditor, another user, mandarb916 passed along advice on how to handle these issues moving forward.

“Pro tip: You can usually get info about the inbound plane somehow. United lets you see this via the app. You can also use something like flightradar24 for this info too,” they wrote.

“I usually find a gate that is completely empty to chill, then about 10-15min before the plane lands per the app or flight radar, I mosey myself over to the gate, straight to the boarding line.You can avoid kids for most of your wait and you get the bonus of actually having access to power.”
