Naked woman who shot up California highway ‘under evaluation’

The naked woman filmed shooting at vehicles on the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge during rush hour was experiencing a “mental health crisis” and has yet to be charged, officials said.

The woman, who has yet to be IDed, is being treated at a hospital but could face multiple charges once she is released, California Highway Patrol Officer Andrew Barclay told The Post.

“Thankfully no one was injured,” Barclay said. “It looked like she was firing towards some vehicles but it didn’t always look like she was aiming directly at them.”

It is unclear how many cars were hit in the melee, but an investigation is continuing, Barclay said.

The bizarre scene unfolded at about 4:40 p.m. Tuesday when CHP received multiple 911 calls of a reckless driver headed eastbound on Interstate 80.

The woman stopped in the middle of the highway, got out of her car with a knife and began yelling at passing motorists, cops said.

The woman then got back in her vehicle and drove toward Oakland, but stopped again at a toll plaza. Police said that is when she exited her car without any clothes on and started firing shots in the air.

Motorists captured the bizarre incident on video as the woman walked across lanes and continued firing at passing vehicles.

Motorists who were passing by were shocked by the woman’s actions.

“Holy s—t, dude! Oh, my God,” the shocked driver said on the video.

“F—k, that’s a lady,” the passenger yelled as they got closer to the woman, who was walking aimlessly between lanes.

When officers arrived, the woman was “not compliant,” but she eventually dropped her gun and surrendered, Barclay told The Post.

CHP officers detained the naked woman as she was standing on the right shoulder of Interstate 80. She was transported in an ambulance and taken to a local hospital, where she is undergoing a psychiatric evaluation, Barclay said.

Police took the woman to hospital
Miraculously, no injuries were reported, and the unnamed suspect was taken into custody without incident.

“The woman was transported to a local hospital where she is being treated by medical personnel,” CHP officials said in a press release. “As a mental hold is not an arrest, we are unable to release the identity of the individual involved in this incident.”

Eastbound lanes of Interstate 80 were closed for about 45 minutes as officers conducted an investigation and removed the woman’s car from the highway, police said.
