Meghan Markle backed for White House run by Joe Biden’s sister Valerie: report

Looks like the idea of seeing Meghan Markle in the Oval Office might not be so far-fetched after all.

President Joe Biden’s sister Valerie Biden Owens has reportedly “endorsed” the “Suits” alum as a woman she would back for the White House, according to the Daily Mail.

The Duchess of Sussex, 41, has long been rumored to have been eyeing up a career in politics, with unconfirmed reports suggesting she’s been forging connections with top Democrats since quitting royal life in 2020.

And it looks like Markle might have a way into 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. if she was to launch a career in politics.

Biden Owens, a veteran political strategist and campaign manager for her brother, has spoken out about her keenness for the mom of two to venture into politics, previously agreeing that Markle would “make a good presidential candidate one day.”

Proving that to indeed be the case, Markle is currently topping a poll of Democrats asking which woman they would vote for, according to the outlet.

Markle ties with Vice President Kamala Harris and is ahead of former FLOTUS Hillary Clinton. 

But polling experts have since noted that the Duchess’ name only highlights the “fact that the choices the Democrats have are not great.”

The Post has reached out to Markle’s reps for comment.

For her part, Biden Owens has enjoyed political success after playing an active role in her brother’s bid for the White House.

Prior to that, former President Barack Obama nominated Biden Owens as Alternate Representative of the United States to the 71st Session of the General Assembly of the United Nations.

When quizzed on her thoughts about Markle potentially one day running for the presidency, Biden Owens said it would be “wonderful to have women in politics.”

“The more women we have, the better our democratic system will work, with a better point of view, a different point of view and we embrace all women,” she continued. “We welcome [Markle] to come in and join the Democratic Party.”

Markle’s rumored desire to dive into politics isn’t unheard of, as actors including Arnold Schwarzenegger and Ronald Reagan tried their hand at politics in the past.

The bodybuilder, 76, served as the 38th governor of California from 2003 to 2011, and Reagan starred in several Tinseltown features in the 1930s before becoming the 40th US president.

But while Markle seems to have reportedly won over Biden Owens, it’s going to take a little more convincing to get the President onboard after her and husband Prince Harry’s request to use Air Force One after the Queen’s funeral was denied.

The White House worried that such escorting the estranged royals back across the pond would cause a “commotion,” it was reported last month.
