Mackenzie Shirilla leaves twisted tribute on beau’s obituary after killing him in crash

The Ohio teen convicted of killing her boyfriend by deliberately slamming her car into a wall at 100 mph while he was in the passenger seat said in a twisted tribute that he was “the last person to deserve this” — and that he had a “perfect life ahead.”

Mackenzie Shirilla, 19 — who was found guilty of four counts of murder for the July 2022 wreck that killed her boyfriend, Dominic Russo, 20, and his friend Davion Flanagan, 19 — appeared to have left the strange message on Russo’s online obituary.

“I miss you nug. I still feel like your just going to walk in the door any second. I miss your laugh your perfect smile. I feel your energy around me everyday i just wish it was physical,” a post written on Aug. 24, 2022, under her name said.

“God u are the last person to deserve this you had such a perfect life ahead of you… i wish i told you all this more. Please wait for me,” it added.

On Aug. 8, 2022, the day of his burial, she posted: “I love you my nug. I will never stop thinking about you.”

Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court Judge Nancy Margaret Russ told the sobbing teen in court Monday, “this was not reckless driving – this was murder.

“She had a mission, and she executed it with precision. The decision was death,” added the judge, who is not related to Dominic, whom Shirilla killed just because their months-long relationship had fizzled.

Security footage captured her acting with “purpose and intent” by flooring her Toyota Camry to 100 mph right before it jumped a curb and slammed into a brick wall, the judge said.

“She morphs from a responsible driver to literal hell on wheels as she makes her way down the street,” she said. “Mackenzie alone made the decision to drive the car, to drive an obscure route, a route she visited a few days before, and a route not routinely taken by her.”

Russo and Flanagan were both declared dead at the scene. Shirilla was found unconscious with her fuzzy Prada slippers still on the accelerator, according to Cleveland.com.

The Strongsville teen, who also was found guilty of four counts of felonious assault and two counts of aggravated vehicular homicide, will be sentenced Monday.

She had THC in her system over the state’s legal limit, but prosecutors did not pursue charges of driving under the influence.
