When was Foxx hospitalized?

Jamie Foxx was hospitalized in Georgia on April 12 after suffering from a “medical complication,” according to a post on his daughter’s Instagram.

Foxx, now reportedly awake and alert, is still in the hospital nearly three weeks after the undisclosed “medical complication.” Doctors are still running tests to try to figure out what exactly happened.

Family and friends who are close to him are asking fans to pray for him.

What are his family and friends saying?

Corinne Foxx, Jamie’s daughter, wrote, “We wanted to share that, my father, Jamie Foxx, experienced a medical complication yesterday. Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery,” in an Instagram story.

“Masked Singer” host Nick Cannon asked his fans to speak “words of affirmation” over Foxx as he continues to recover.

Martin Lawrence told the media that Foxx was “doing better” and called Foxx “one of the best that we got in Hollywood.”

Actress Kerry Washington posted an appreciation post on her Instagram of her and Foxx after hearing about his hospitalization.

What was Foxx working on before being rushed to the hospital?

Before going to the hospital, Foxx was working on the “Back in Action” movie with actress Cameron Diaz. While Foxx remains in the hospital, Diaz returned to the set to film scenes with Foxx’s body double.

“Beat Shazam,” the game show co-hosted by Foxx and his daughter Corinne, has started filming its new season and found another host to replace Fox, according to reports.

Corinne will not be in the new season as she will be staying by her father’s side at the hospital.

Meanwhile, a source told People on April 21 that the actor is “OK” but “still in the hospital.”

“Doctors are running tests, but he’s awake and alert,” the source added. “They’re keeping him under observation.”

Foxx was photographed filming “Back in Action” with Cameron Diaz, 50, just one day before he was rushed to the hospital. While he has been bedridden, production continued with his body double after a short pause.

However, “Beat Shazam,” the game show co-hosted by Foxx and Corinne, started filming its new season — but has found another host while Foxx is recovering, according to TMZ.
