Gynecologists reveal 5 secrets you’ve been too afraid to ask

From their lips to your ears.

Two gynecologists are sharing the five things you’ve always wanted to know but were afraid to ask.

Caitlyn Ranger and Amanda Henne, gynecologists at Ochshner Health in Louisiana, posted a video that has since garnered over 287,000 views from those curious about their perspectives on the job.

They talked about the things they could care less about as medical professionals along with the one thing they think is funny people do.

“These are five things your gynecologist wants you to know. Number one — we don’t care about your hair,” they said.

“Waxed? Shaved? Vajazzle? Just came back from the gym? We don’t care,” the other added.

The docs also said they know people have their periods and it shouldn’t deter people from coming to the office.

“A lot of times, we don’t even have to do a pelvic exam and it will have no bearing on what we do or talk about that day,’” they explained.

They also encouraged patients to feel comfortable asking questions that might make some blush.

“Talk to us about anything. Believe me, we’ve heard it all — sexual preferences, STD history, what about your discharge,?” they said.

“Let us have it. You cannot scare us,” they added.

One thing patients do that makes them scratch their heads is when they hide their underwear.

“Number four — we know you wear underwear. You don’t need to hide it from us, so don’t worry about that,” they said.

“Quit folding it and putting it between your shirt and pants. It’s fine,” they added.

Another habit people can kick to the curb is getting a pedicure before their appointment.

“Lastly, number five — we’re here to look at your vaginas. We do not care about your feet,” they explained.

Commenters thanked them for reading their minds and putting them at ease.

“WAIT. How in the hell did you know I fold them and hide them between my shirt and pants???,” one joked.

“I did go to my OB the other day and my mom scolded me for not shaving. I was like THEY DO NOT CARE,” said another.

“This is so educational. I’ve always been told not to go in on my period,” someone chimed in.

The gynecologists also post other information on TikTok, including telling people what they can expect at their first gynecology exam.

A video with first-time tips they posted in June has over 90,000 views.

They cover everything from yearly breast and pelvic exams to which way the gown opens — which is from the front.

They also go over what a speculum is and break down a pelvic exam.

“We use this in order to look inside the vagina to look at your vagina and your cervix, they explained.

They then went on to describe how they check your uterus and ovaries by using their finger to check for any masses, which is called a bi-manual exam.
