Former Navy SEAL Robert O’Neill, who claims he killed Bin Laden, beat up security guard, called him n-word: cops

Former Navy SEAL Robert O’Neill, who claims he fired the shots that killed Osama bin Laden, beat up a security guard and called him the N-word during an alcohol-fueled incident that resulted in his arrest after he passed out at a hotel bar in Texas last week, police sources said.

The onetime hero hurled the racist slurs after he got inebriated and fell asleep at a bar Wednesday inside the Omni at The Star — directly next to Dallas Cowboys headquarters in Frisco, according to the Frisco Police Department.

An unnamed security guard who tried to help O’Neill to his room was assaulted and berated by the elite fighter — resulting in O’Neill’s arrest.

[“O’Neill] turned to him, rose his fists in the air and struck him in his chest with his right palm,” the hotel security officer told police. “Robert called him a ‘fu–ing n—er’” when he struck him.

The security guard backed away from O’Neill saying, “I can’t believe you just hit me,” the report reads.

The former special operations forces member then repeated the slur, the guard claimed.

A former SEAL Team 6 member, O’Neill came to wide public prominence after he took credit for firing the shots that killed 9/11 mastermind Osama bin Laden during a covert raid in 2011.

O’Neill told his story in his 2017 memoir “The Operator.”

The United States government has never confirmed or denied the story.

O’Neill, a Tennessee resident, had traveled to the Dallas area to record a podcast.

The hotel security guard had been tasked with helping O’Neill up to his room after the hotel “offered to use a wheelchair to help Robert get back to his room on the 5th floor,” police said.

“Robert refused to be pushed in a wheelchair, so [a security guard] offered to help him get to his room.”

A short time later, that same security guard called down on his radio and informed his co-workers he had been assaulted by O’Neill.

The staffer was able to get away from the retired special ops fighter. Frisco police arrived a short time later, making their way to the fifth floor.

The security guard was so badly injured that medics had to be called to treat him, a police document revealed.

O’Neil wailed on the security officer’s chest with his palm and received a separate injury. However, that information was redacted from the police report.

When police arrived at the hotel, they described finding one of America’s most elite warriors barely able to stand on his own two feet.

“Robert had a strong odor of alcoholic beverage emitting from his body as well as red glassy eyes,” noted the law enforcement officer.

“Corporal Anderson observed that Robert was holding a silver credit card in his hand,” an arrest report states. “Robert pressed the card against the lock trying to open the room.”

When authorities tried to question O’Neill, including how much he’d had to drink, he refused to give any answers and repeatedly said, “We good,” officers noted.

He told officers he believed he was in Addison, a different Dallas suburb about 30 minutes from Frisco.

The 47-year-old was booked Wednesday in Frisco and slapped with a Class A misdemeanor charge of assault causing bodily injury and a Class C misdemeanor charge of public intoxication.

He has since bonded out of jail and celebrated his wedding anniversary over the weekend.

In 2020, the outspoken vet was banned by Delta Airlines for refusing to wear a mask.

In 2016 he was arrested for driving drunk in Montana, charges which prosecutors later dropped CBS News reported.

The veteran is also one of the backers of Armed Forces Brewing Co., a Virginia microbrewer that was born amid the controversy surrounding Bud Light’s sponsorship of LGBTQ influencer Dylan Mulvaney.

O’Neill denied calling the security guard the N-word in a statement from his lawyer.

“Our client absolutely denies that he called anyone the ‘N’ word,” said the attorney, Richard E Lerner. “He would never use such language.”
