Florida teen rescued from ‘true case of child trafficking’ during routine traffic stop

An abducted Florida teenager was rescued from a “true case of child trafficking” last week after North Carolina cops conducted a routine traffic stop on her kidnapper’s car.

Alejandro Hernandez Vazquez, 40, of Miami was pulled over for a traffic violation just past midnight July 4 near Rocky Mount, a city 800 miles away from where his 16-year-old passenger had been reported missing earlier that day.

“During the enforcement action and asking routine questions of the driver, Deputies developed reasonable suspicion to believe that criminal activity was afoot,” the Nash County Sheriff’s Office said.

During their investigation, cops discovered the unidentified teenager was reported missing as a runaway by Coral Springs police in Florida just five hours earlier.

Cops believe Vazquez met the teen online and convinced her to leave behind her family — who told officers they had no idea who the 40-year-old man was.

“It was not like she was bound in the car and things of that nature, but you know, it’s a young 16-year-old and a grown man, and he’s manipulated her and carried her across this country,” Nash County Sheriff Keith Stone told ABC.

“This is a true case of child trafficking.”
