Everything you need to know about TikTok’s siren lips trend

TikTok is an interesting place on the internet. Among the dancing teens and compilation videos, you can find an endless scroll of viral beauty hacks. You know, like the glass skin trend and the botox alternative.

Now, TikTok “For You Pages” are filling up with the latest beauty trend: siren lips.

We tapped celebrity makeup artist, beauty expert, and CTZN Cosmetics chief creative officer, Sir John, for his insight. With clients such as Serena Williams, Priyanka Chopra, Margot Robbie, Zendaya, and many more — we have a good feeling he knows what he’s talking about.

“The siren lip trend, similar to the concept of the siren eyes trend, is all about defining and accentuating the face for a more dramatic look,” Sir John told the New York Post. “The siren lip technique accentuates the natural upturn of the lips to create a sexy, but subtle smirk on all lip shapes.”

Sir John believes this popular trend to be a take on the “classic, old Hollywood sultry smirk,” and is “a new twist to the popular over-lining lip trend.”

Sir John claims that this version of the siren lip trend by Helin Doski is one of his favorites because the look is “natural and seamless.”

We couldn’t agree more, so we asked Sir John just how to achieve this captivating look.

Step 1: Line the lips

“The best way to get the look is to start off with a darker lip liner to define and enhance the lip’s natural shape by extending the corners to create a slightly more upturned shape,” said Sir John.

Sir John loves to use the CTZN Cosmetics Lipstroke in Cinco, while we listed further top picks below.
