Dreamland’s NYFW show to break Guinness World Record

For many, attending a coveted Fashion Week show is merely a far-fetched dream — but at Dreamland this weekend, it can become a reality.

That is what’s so unique about Dreamland: Fashion Week in Central Park: It’s open to everyone.

“So much of Fashion Week is exclusive — you need to be on a guest list, you need to be a friend of a friend,” Dreamland producer Jake Resnicow told The Post.

According to the powerhouse event producer and recipient of the OUT100 Most Influential LGBTQ People of the Year, the exclusivity does not align with his values. His community, he said, has “been on the sidelines for so long.”

And, even better, the outdoors bonanza on Saturday is slated to break the Guinness World Record for fashion show attendance, which was previously set by COFFEECELL in Moscow, Russia, in 2018, which 1,012 people attended.

The capacity for the unforgettable party is 5,000 — and nearly all of the tickets, ranging from $60 to $100, are sold out.

“To be able to have a safe space where we can come out, express ourselves, and all are welcome, and all are included is paramount — and I’m really excited to create that platform here,” said Resnicow, who has previously produced Dreamland Pride in Central Park.

“By opening up to all, it’s really allowing everyone to not just celebrate and enjoy the shows, but to express themselves in their own fashion ways.”

Centerstage at Dreamland will be award-winning designer Marco Marco, the brand brainchild of Marco Morante, who has dressed the likes of Jennifer Lopez, Shakira and Katy Perry and is described by Resnicow as “iconic.”

At his NYFW show at Central Park’s SummerStage, Marco Marco will present a vibrant collection celebrating his impressive 20-year career with a star-studded catwalk — his first in 5 years.

“Fashion has been so much a part of our community and connecting these two worlds in a way that’s inclusive, and not exclusive, was really special and unique,” said Resnicow.

“It’s going to be truly something special and unique that everyone’s going to walk away with and remember,” Resnicow said.

“Fashion has been so much a part of our community and connecting these two worlds in a way that’s inclusive, and not exclusive, was really special and unique.”

But the entertainment line-up doesn’t stop there — performances from Diplo, LP Giobbi and Blond:ish are also on docket to make the 7-hour event “special.”

While “anyone can go to a party,” Resnicow insists the day-long bash will exceed expectations due to its “immersive art and activities,” and even the Marco Marco runway, he said, will be “integrated into the party.”

Additionally, a portion of the proceeds made from Dreamland will go towards the City Parks Foundation, an organization that cultivates parks into bustling hubs for communities through educational programs, sports, arts and more across the city.

What’s better than that? For Resnicow, hosting the “once-in-a-lifetime” in Central Park, where he’s always dreamed of producing an event.

“When you’re in the park, as the sun goes down, the stars come up, and all the lights come up in the trees,” he said, “it’s like nowhere else.”
