Donald Trump says he ‘would love’ to debate Meghan Markle

Former President Donald Trump is eager to square off in a debate with Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex — over her treatment of the queen.

“I didn’t like the way she dealt with the queen,” Trump told conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt on Wednesday.

“I’d love to debate her. I would love it. I disagree so much with what they’re doing.”

The 77-year-old Trump described his relationship with the late Queen Elizabeth II as “very friendly.”

“She was an incredible woman. At 95, she was so sharp. She was 100%. When you watch [President] Biden, you say this is a different planet,” he continued.

Britain’s longest-reigning monarch died on Sept. 22, 2022, at the age of 96.

The 2024 GOP presidential front-runner also expanded on his concerns about his successor’s vitality.

“Look, anything’s possible, but when I watch — his body is shot, and his mind is worse,” Trump said.

“He’s not running the government,” he continued of the 80-year-old commander-in-chief.

“People that are surrounding him, who are very smart fascists and communists, those are the people running our country.”

Trump’s remarks about Markle, 42, came during a discussion about the upcoming 50th anniversary of the iconic 1973 “Battle of the Sexes” in which Billie Jean King defeated Bobby Riggs in a tennis exhibition.

The showdown remains the most-watched tennis bout in television history, estimated to have drawn around 90 million viewers worldwide.

But Hewitt mused that a Trump-versus-Markle debate could top that, before asking the former president if he’d do it for the ratings.

“Oh, if you want to set it up, let’s set it up. Let’s go do something,” Trump quipped.

Last month, Trump skipped the first 2024 Republican presidential debate on Aug. 23 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, citing his monster polling lead.

The Fox News debate averaged 12.8 million views. Trump, meanwhile, opted for an interview with former Fox News host Tucker Carlson instead.

Trump has also not committed to attending the second GOP debate on Sept. 27 at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in California.

Markle and her husband, Prince Harry, sensationally decided to step back from their royal duties in 2020 in a very public falling out with the royal family. The couple moved to California.

At the time, Trump was vehemently opposed to any US funding for their security.

The rogue royals sat down for a bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2021 in which they took turns bashing the royal family.

“I was trapped within the system, like the rest of my family are,” the Duke of Sussex, 38, told Winfrey.

“My father and my brother, they are trapped. They don’t get to leave, and I have huge compassion for that.”

Trump previously panned the royal couple and pinned most of the blame on Markle.

“I think Harry has been used horribly and I think someday he will regret it,” Trump said during an interview with the United Kingdom’s Nigel Farage in 2021.
