Clean dirty white sneakers at the car wash, TikTokers advise

Don’t tire yourself out by scrubbing your dirty sneakers — take ’em to a car wash instead.

“Washing ur white shoes on the car wash 1000/10,” Reyna Montalvo captioned a September TikTok that showed her spraying the white canvas shoes she was wearing before turning the nozzle to a black truck.

Montalvo is not alone — TikTokers have been dragging their stained kicks to car washes across the country for an easy spray and clean getaway.

“Work smarter not harder,” Grace Martin wrote in August. “Just two girls pressure-washing their New Balances at the car wash.”

In the 21-second TikTok, Martin and a pal pull at least eight past-their-prime sneakers out of a white basket and line them against a car wash wall. They take the sprayer to each stinky shoe.

And in May, a woman went viral for showing what a difference a power wash makes.

“Wait for it,” she advised.

Some TikTokers call the pointer “so smart,” “genius” and a “good idea.”

But others have not taken a shine to the car wash cleanse.

“Wash it in washing machine it always works and looks new again,” one commenter implored.

“Why do U wanna get wet !! Best is to scrub them old fashioned way with soap and brush and then soak it in bleach in washing machine!” another insisted.

“My washing machines broken and this honesty worked SO much better,” Martin replied to the naysayers.

For those who prefer chillin’ with their hose, consider this TikTok advice: “Don’t do this with your shoe on your foot,” one commenter begged. “My husband literally got a hole [blown] into his leg at work with a pressure washer, through his pants.”

Others recommend keeping hands out of the way of the spray.

“Girl has never seen pictures of water pressure injuries,” one TikToker wrote of Martin.
