Carli Lloyd says ‘bye Twitter’ after FedEx rant backlash

Twitter may not have Carli Lloyd to kick around much longer.

The former United States Women’s National Team soccer star says she is leaving Twitter after receiving backlash earlier this week for ripping a FedEx driver for leaving her packages out to get rained on.

“Ringing in the new year with soaked packages,” Lloyd wrote in a since-deleted tweet, which was preserved in a screengrab by TMZ. “Guess the extra 5 steps from our @FedEx driver to place under the covered section of the porch was a hard task to endure.”

Lloyd ended the vent with the hashtag #noonecaresabouttheirjobanymore.

After her mentions were flooded with criticism for the tone of her tweet — according to the website Independent, her complaint was mocked as “Republican” — Lloyd seemingly decided to bail on the platform.

“Bye Twitter,” she wrote with a peace sign. “I usually know better than to come on here amongst the warriors!”

Although, Lloyd has yet to delete her account.

Lloyd, 39, won two World Cups and two Olympic gold medals with the USWNT. She retired from soccer in 2021 after completing the 2021 NWSL season for NJ/NY Gotham FC.
