Cadillac takes over Times Square to reveal electric Escalade IQ

That was electric!

General Motors revealed its new fully electric Cadillac Escalade in dramatic fashion Wednesday night, taking over most Times Square billboards to promote the new $130,000 luxury vehicle.

Scores of people took in the suspenseful, gradual roll-out, which began at 7:30 p.m. when the billboards suddenly showed wheels racing across buildings in unison.

The flashy displays then revealed Cadillac’s Escalade IQ, which will go on sale next year.

Richard Persaud, of Brooklyn, was especially excited about the reveal, telling The Post: “I’m buying this.”

“Shout out to Cadillac for like finally listening to the customers,” he said.

“I was a lucid investor … Tomorrow I’m dumping all of my positions into General Motors.”

“I have been waiting for them to make an electric Escalade,” added Persaud.

“This car is exactly what I want, swagger… I have to get one for me and my dad,” he declared.

Another Times Square passerby, Javier C, also admired the new SUV.

“I didn’t notice it was Cadillac at first because it’s different colors than the usual black and gold, but now I see it’s because it’s electric, wow, it’s nice, I like it more now,” he said.

The IQ features a 55-inch LED dash screen, a special “Velocity Mode” that outputs 750 horsepower, can go zero to 60 mph in five seconds, and travel 450 miles on a single charge, company execs boasted at the EV’s launch event in downtown Manhattan earlier Wednesday.

The 2025 model SUV is the luxury carmaker’s biggest step towards having a fully electric portfolio by the end of the decade, Cadillac Vice President John Roth said at the earlier event.
