Australian traveling US deletes TikTok account after criticizing nation’s display of patriotism: ‘Too many Americans flags’

As Johnny Cash once sang, Americans can be “mighty proud of that ragged old flag.

An Australian TikToker traveling the US felt the wrath of American patriotism after posting a video expressing her annoyance at the number of American flags flying around the country, but was forced to deactivate her accounts after facing harsh criticism — including from Texas’ governor.

“I’m just gonna say it… there are too many American flags,” said Mia Chloe in a video posted to her TikTok as she walked around a suburban neighborhood in the Land of the Free.

The TikToker claimed America is the only country she’s been to that visibly puts up or slaps a flag onto anything possible.

“They’re on houses, they’re on cars… saw them on couch cushions,” she says in the now-deleted video.

Chloe revealed she wouldn’t even be able to point out her national flag if needed.

“The only time I’ve seen an Australian flag is on the [Sydney] Harbour Bridge… could not tell you what it looks like,” she said. “I know it’s, like, blue and it’s got some stars on it.”

But having Old Glory constantly in her face since arriving in America, she stated she could “draw the American flag from memory.”

“It’s enough,” the Aussie said in a general call out to Americans. “Let’s stay humble.”

Chloe was bombarded with criticism for her thoughts on American patriotism — and was even sent a stern message from Texas Governor Greg Abbott.

“Go back to Australia,” the Lone Star State governor re-tweeted with the video — which has been re-uploaded to various Twitter accounts since being deleted by Chloe.

Chloe deactivated her TikTok page @meanderwithmedia after it became clear Americans did not take kindly to the Australian calling out the nation’s pride and display of patriotism.

Comments under Abbott’s re-tweet had a frenzy over her lack of understanding of why Americans were so proud of the Stars and Stripes.

“Too much America in America. I don’t get it,” one user commented, mocking the Aussie.

“Yes, we are proud to be an exceptional nation. As evidence, I present the fact that she, a hater, still spent time and money to visit., LOL,” One user commented.

“If she only knew the significance of that flag,” another wrote.

“Wait till she visits Texas and sees all our flags,” another shared, eluding to the pride Texans have in their state flag.

The video even gained a reaction from a user claiming to be a fellow Aussie.

“As an Aussie who just spent two weeks in Texas, I found the presence of the flags inspiring. I wish we had that kind of patriotism back home,” commented @AussieOverLawd.

“Unfortunately, these kids have no pride and respect for their country (or others). And I’ve seen a corresponding lack of courtesy and respect for others as well.”

This is not the first issue the Aussie has had with America, according to Fox News

In a separate video, Chloe was captured complaining about how American supermarkets are “a trap” from inside a Walmart, according to the outlet.

In another, she called Kansas an “unlivable” state.

“I’m currently in Kansas,” the outlet reported Chloe saying in a now-deleted video uploaded on Aug. 4.

“Even though it’s blue skies right now. Give it an hour and it’s going to be thunder storming, there’s going to be lightning. You’re going to get stuck in a f–king hail shower.”
