Biden insists Delaware beach house visit isn’t ‘vacation’

President Biden insists he was not on “vacation” when he went to his Delaware beach house over the weekend.

“The reason I’m here today, just for one day — I know people [say] I’m on vacation, I’m not,” Biden told reporters in Delaware on Sunday. “I have no home to go to. Secret Service has torn my house up in a good way to make it secure.”

Biden has frequently ventured to his main home in Wilmington, Del., during trips to the First State but opted to stay at his Rehoboth Beach house Sunday.

The shore visit came after he toured some of Hurricane Idalia’s wreckage in Florida on Saturday.

“I have no place to go when I come to Delaware except here right now,” he added from Rehoboth.

A reporter asked him, “Are you homeless?”

“Oh I’m not homeless, I just have one home,” Biden replied. “I’m down here for the day because can’t go home, home.”

His brief remarks came while exiting Mass at St. Edmond Roman Catholic Church.

The president has claimed that his Wilmington residence has been under some sort of renovations since April, including involving bullet-proof glass.

Biden departed Delaware early Labor Day Monday to speak at a rally for the American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations (AFL-CIO) in Philadelphia.

A recent analysis by The Post reported that Biden has spent 40% — or 382 of his first 957 days as president — on personal overnight trips away from the White House, more than any of his recent predecessors.

Over the weekend, he noted that he hasn’t been able to visit East Palestine, Ohio, the site of the toxic train derailment from February, because of his busy schedule.

“I haven’t had the occasion to go to East Palestine,” Biden told reporters Saturday. “There’s a lot going on here, and I just haven’t been able to break.”

On March 2, Biden promised to visit East Palestine “at some point” but declined to specify when.

The president is set to travel to India from Sept. 7 to Sept. 10 for the Group of 20 Summit, a trip that will feature a stop in Hanoi, Vietnam.

Afterward, he is slated to mark the 22nd anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks from Alaska.
