‘Extremely dangerous’ pint-sized killer who escaped Pa. prison is spotted just 1.5 miles away

A 5-foot-tall “extremely dangerous” escaped murderer was spotted over the weekend on a residential security camera fewer than 2 miles from the Pennsylvania prison he fled from.

Pint-sized perp Danelo Cavalcante, 34, who is serving a life sentence for fatally stabbing his ex-girflriend, was wearing dark pants, a white t-shirt and white sneakers when the surveillance camera in Pocopson Township outside Philadelphia captured his likeness around 1:34 a.m. Saturday, three days after his escape, according to ABC News.

Police said the small-fry stabber was also carrying a backpack, although it’s unclear where he got it.

Someone tried to pull off an attempted burglary in the township around 11:30 p.m. Friday, but cops have said they don’t know if it was Cavalcante.

He was captured on camera Saturday about 1.5 miles away from Chester County Prison near Philadelphia.

Cavalacante escaped from the prison just one week after his sentencing.

“Danelo Cavalcante is considered an extremely dangerous man,” Chester County DA Deb Ryan said in a statement on Facebook on Saturday. “We are asking for the public’s help in locating him. … Law enforcement is doing everything now to locate him.”

The top prosecutor added at a press conference, “We are requesting that residents in the area of Pocopson Township remain inside.

“Lock your doors, lock your cars. He is still considered an extremely dangerous individual. There is evidence to suggest that he’s still in that local residence. We do not believe he has gotten more than one to 2 miles away from the prison.”

It wasn’t clear how Cavalcante busted out.

The Brazilian man — who speaks Spanish and Portugese — was just starting to serve life without parole for the April 2021 killing of his 33-year-old ex, Deborah Brandao, when he escaped.

He is also wanted for a 2017 murder in Brazil, the district attorney said.

Cavalcante was going to be transferred to a state prison before he escaped, according to ABC.

Authorities described him as 5 feet tall and 120 pounds. He has shaggy, curly black and brown eyes.

Cavalcante is still probably around Route 52 in Pocopson, the Pennsylvania State Police said.

Federal authorities are picking through a wooded neighborhood of about 271 homes to try to root him out, ABC said.

“We are narrowing the scope of our search — we believe that he may be in a residential location that is comprised with hundreds of homes in a deeply wooded area at this time, but our search remains active,” Ryan said.

Anyone who sees Cavalcante should not approach him, Ryan said. Instead, they should call 911 immediately.

Authorities are offering a $10,000 reward for his capture.
