Tulsa County deputies responded to a call about an injured woman near a homeless encampment on Charles Page Boulevard in Tulsa Monday afternoon.

Upon arrival, authorities found the unnamed woman had been severely beaten and transported her to a local hospital, FOX 23 reported.

“We respond and her eyes are nearly swollen shut and she’s got injuries all over her, she’s even scraped up from running through the grass in an attempt to get away from her attacker,” Casey Roebuck, a spokeswoman for the Tulsa County Sheriff’s Office, announced Tuesday.

She said the woman then told authorities how her ex-boyfriend, Bobby Lee Mann, 53, found her at a nearby motel Saturday night.

She said Mann was angry that she would not drop the domestic violence assault charge she had filed against him. He pulled a knife and threatened to kill her if she did not come with him to the homeless encampment.
