Joe Biden used aliases to loop Hunter in on Ukraine meetings

President Biden used at least three pseudonyms during his vice presidency to send messages to his son Hunter concerning both family and official government business — including meetings with Ukrainian leaders, emails found on the first son’s abandoned laptop show.

Then-Vice President Biden emailed Hunter under the aliases “Robin Ware,” “Robert L. Peters” and “JRB Ware” between 2014 and 2016, keeping his son abreast of scheduled talks with then-Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko and Kyiv Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman, among other communications The Post first revealed in 2021.

The elder Biden had one of his aides, John Flynn, send his daily schedule to the private email address “[email protected]” at least 10 times between May 18 and June 15, 2016, copying Hunter on a May 26 message with a note about an “8.45am prep for 9am phonecall [sic] with Pres Poroshenko.”

Biden had pressured Poroshenko six months earlier to fire Ukrainian prosecutor general Viktor Shokin, who was investigating the natural gas company Burisma Holdings, where Hunter earned roughly $1 million per year while serving on the board between 2014 and 2019.

The vice president, who was in charge of Ukraine policy at the time, discussed reforms to Shokin’s office after the prosecutor’s ouster, according to archived readout of the May 27 conversation.

The year after leaving office, Biden publicly stated that he had threatened during his December 2015 visit to Ukraine to withhold $1 billion in US loan guarantees if Shokin was not ousted.

A June 15, 2016, meeting with Prime Minister Groysman led to an announcement of “$220 million in new assistance to Ukraine,” records show. Hunter had also been cc’d about that meeting on his father’s schedule the day before.

State Department officials have previously testified that they got nowhere with the vice president when raising concerns over Hunter’s position on the Burisma board, which they considered a setback to Joe’s purported anti-corruption efforts.

Hunter didn’t only receive heads-up about Ukraine from his dad’s office. In June 2015, Joe Biden’s longtime assistant Kathy Chung sent both Hunter and “Peters” a list of 25 cell phone numbers linked to major political players — including Bill and Hillary Clinton, Senate party leaders Mitch McConnell and Harry Reid, then-DNC Chairwoman Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, and then-Attorney General Loretta Lynch.

On Thursday, House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) asked the National Archives to turn over unredacted records where Biden, 80, relied on the aliases when communicating with Hunter and his business partners Eric Schwerin and Devon Archer.

Archer told the committee July 31 that Hunter earned a spot on Burisma’s board because of the Biden “brand” — and that Joe Biden hopped on phone calls with his son’s foreign associates nearly two dozen times.

According to White House visitor logs, Schwerin also stopped by the Old Executive Office Building to meet with the then-vice president in the days surrounding shifts in US-Ukraine policy.

Comer has also asked for drafts of a speech Biden gave to Ukraine’s parliament on Dec. 9, 2015, calling for reform to Shokin’s office and the eastern European nation’s judicial system.

Federal law requires government officials to retain records of all their official communications.

Hunter also lobbied his dad through the “Robin Ware” alias to consider a friend for a legal role in the Obama administration.

“Before you fill position pls talk to me — [John] McGrail very much wants to serve as detail fr [sic] treasury,” Hunter told Joe in a June 23, 2014, email.

“Re Johnny call me right away, Dad,” replied “Ware” within an hour of receiving it. McGrail was later appointed deputy counsel to the vice president and eventually promoted to counsel.

Other emails from [email protected] share family photos and fond personal memories with his son.

“Cold up here today. Miss you but fell good about what you are doing. You’ve been a man since you were a child,” the elder Biden told Hunter in a Nov. 24, 2012, email titled “My beautiful son.”

“I’ve admired you courage more than you could even when it got you in trouble like the time at Beaus’ game at Penn when that frat guy called me a cheater,” he said. “Courage shapes character and character is destiny. Get well I need you. Dad.”

Hunter’s brother Beau Biden attended the University of Pennsylvania, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in 1991 before following his father to Syracuse University College of Law.

The “cheater” reference appears to be a reference to Joe Biden’s first presidential campaign, which ended in disarray in 1987 after he admitted to plagiarizing a law review article during his first year at Syracuse.

Beau had also given “a talk on corruption” in Kyiv, according to correspondence Joe Biden received from then-Deputy Secretary of State Antony Blinken (now Secretary of State) and forwarded to Hunter from his “Robin Ware” email address on March 26, 2012.

The president also used the “JRB Ware” name in late 2016 to discuss plans for the Penn Biden Center, which later opened in Washington, DC, and where attorneys for the president found improperly housed classified material late last year.
