Trump indictment ‘Co-Conspirator 6’ mystery as ex-aide Mike Roman trolls Twitter

WASHINGTON — The identity of “Co-Conspirator 6” in the latest criminal indictment of former President Donald Trump has become the new favorite parlor game among former White House and campaign aides — with one former top operative, Mike Roman, appearing to troll social media users by hinting that he’s the man.

Hours after the indictment from special counsel Jack Smith’s prosecutors was handed up Tuesday night, Roman, a Philadelphia native, posted a picture of a Philadelphia Eagles jersey with the nameplate “Smith” and the number “6.”

“Kelly Green. #Eagles,” Roman captioned the post on X, formerly known as Twitter — in what some interpreted as a confession and others saw as mockery of the fevered speculation over the person’s identity.

It’s unclear whether Roman, Trump 2020’s director of Election Day operations, actually is the sixth unindicted alleged co-conspirator listed in the 45-page indictment, which charged Trump with four federal offenses related to his attempts to reverse his defeat to Joe Biden.

Roman and an attorney said to be representing him did not respond to The Post’s requests for clarification.

Sources told The Post that Roman was a low-key, behind-the-scene figure despite working on both Trump’s 2016 and 2020 campaigns and working in the West Wing in 2017 and 2018.

Some sources speculated that clues in the indictment hint he may not actually be the sixth person.

Several other names have been floated — with some insiders speculating that there may even be a typo in the charging document that is causing confusion and making it difficult to nail down an ID with certainty.

One former official who overlapped with Roman on the Trump 2016 campaign and in the West Wing said they recalled fleeting plans to make him a legal representative on the communications team, but said he wasn’t a particularly well-known fixture.

During Roman’s time working in the Trump White House, his title was “director of special projects and research.”

“Name doesn’t even ring a bell,” said a senior Trump West Wing official of Roman, who added, “The Trump legal team wasn’t exactly a bunch of A-listers.”
