Hunter Biden faces three new federal charges, including tax crimes

First son Hunter Biden has agreed to plead guilty to federal tax and firearm charges as part a deal with the Justice Department, according to a court document filed Tuesday.

The charges, first reported by NBC News, come at the conclusion of a five-year-long investigation into the 53-year-old that has focused on money he earned from overseas business interests.

President Biden’s son will plead guilty to two counts of willful failure to pay federal income tax and one firearm offense as part of the deal.

Hunter Biden announced soon after his father won the 2020 presidential election that his “tax affairs” were under investigation by the Delaware US Attorney’s Office, lead by David Weiss.
