Donald Trump says there’s ‘something wrong’ with Joe Biden

Former President Donald Trump took aim Tuesday night at his likely rival in the 2024 race for the White House, asserting that there is “something wrong” with President Biden.

“Look, I watch him just like you do,” Trump told Fox News host Tucker Carlson of the 80-year-old commander-in-chief. “And I think it’s almost inappropriate for me to say it. I don’t see how it’s possible. But there’s something wrong.”

Trump, 76, made the comment in his first interview since being charged with 34 felony counts of business fraud in Manhattan April 4.

“I saw his answer today [Monday] on television about whether or not he was going to run to a very nice guy named Al Roker,” the 45th president added. “You can’t get a softer question than that. It was a long answer about the eggs and this and that — look, I don’t think he can.”

Biden told the NBC “Today” show meteorologist ahead of the White House Easter Egg Roll that he did plan on running for reelection, but was not ready to throw his hat in the ring.

Former President Trump said he will remain in the running for re-election and said he would "never drop out."
Trump jumped on his attempt at humor before the statement and said there was “something wrong” with the octogenarian.

“I’ll either be rolling an egg, or end up being the guy, you know, the guy who’s pushing them out,” Biden joked, before telling Roker, “I plan on running Al, but we’re not prepared to announce it yet.”

Concerns about a second Biden term are not contained to the Republican side of the aisle; a poll published last week by CNN/SSRS found that more than half of Democratic voters wanted to see another name on the top of the ticket.

An unnamed former White House official told Reuters last month that Biden was inclined to run again because he doesn’t think Vice President Kamala Harris can defeat Trump, who is polling well ahead of likely GOP rival Ron DeSantis despite his significant legal problems.

In the Carlson interview, Trump said he would not drop out of the race for the Republican nomination if convicted.

In addition to the Manhattan case, he also under multiple federal investigations and a criminal inquiry in Georgia.

There is nothing in the Constitution that would bar Trump from seeking office again, even if he were sentenced to prison.

Biden would be 86 at the end of a possible second term and Trump would be 82 by the end of his hypothetical second non-consecutive term.

Both men had already set records for the oldest president ever elected.
