3-year-old dies on migrant bus bound for Chicago

A 3-year-old child died on a bus of migrants headed to Chicago from Texas, state officials confirmed.

The youngster, who was traveling with its parents, died in Marion County in southern Illinois — about 90 minutes east of St. Louis, Missouri, according to the Illinois Department of Public Health.

It’s not clear where the family was originally from or how the child died.

“IDPH is working with local health officials, state police, and federal authorities to the fullest extent possible to get answers in this tragic situation,” Illinois DPH told The Post in a statement.

An autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death, the department said.
